How Flowo's Deterministic Scheduler Builds a Day

Inputs to the scheduler

Manual time-blocking requires a duration estimate, a placement decision, and conflict resolution. Flowo accepts those constraints as structured inputs and evaluates candidate slots. This changes the planning workflow; it does not establish a cognitive or clinical outcome.

A task includes a deadline, estimated duration, and priority. The deterministic engine evaluates available time around fixed events, habits, day boundaries, category windows, and prior allocations. It returns a placement plus status and conflict information; it does not claim to find a universally optimal time.

Three scheduling models

The current planner represents three common kinds of commitment:

  • Tasks: Deadline-driven work units. The scheduler finds the best available slot based on priority and available time.
  • Events: Fixed-time appointments like meetings or calls that the engine builds around.
  • Habits: Recurring activities that repeat automatically, helping you maintain consistency without re-entering them each day.

Reports and re-planning

The engine reports statuses, lateness, quota compression, placement failures, shortfalls, and pinned conflicts. When priorities or available time change, Flowo can propose new placements for unfinished work. The current everyday flow applies allocations and exposes structured placement context afterwards; a universal preview-and-confirm step is proposed, not shipped.

Schedule Templates

Before any auto-scheduling begins, you define Schedule Templates — protected blocks for sleep, meals, rest, and category-specific time windows. These anchors ensure your day is built around your wellbeing, not against it. The system will never schedule a task during your protected rest periods.
