The Flowo Story: Why We Built a System for Overwhelmed Minds
· Maksym Bardakh Ivko
A factual account of why the founders combined capture, deterministic scheduling, task breakdown, and re-planning in one mobile application.
Solving Our Own Struggle
Flowo didn't start as a commercial product. It started as a necessity. Our founders, Maksym Bardakh Ivko and Mykhailo Boichuk, spent years struggling with the "Planning Paradox": the more overwhelmed you are, the more you need a plan, but the act of planning itself becomes a source of paralysis. Every to-do app, every color-coded calendar, every productivity system they tried demanded the very cognitive resources they didn't have.
What Traditional Tools Get Wrong
The products we tried still required us to estimate, place, and rearrange every task manually. That observation describes our experience, not every planner or every person with ADHD.
We built a deterministic scheduler that can place work around visible constraints and propose new placements later. Flowo also includes optional habit streaks; they remain separate from task re-planning.
From Personal Tool to Product
What started as a personal prototype evolved into the three-pillar system that Flowo is today:
- Deterministic scheduling from user-supplied constraints
- Braindump for capture before classification
- User-invoked cloud assistance for selected context
Privacy from Day One
Core planning records are encrypted on the device. User-invoked cloud features send selected content through the authenticated Flowo API to disclosed AWS services. Read the Privacy Policy for processors, purposes, transfers, controls, and retention criteria.
